Paint wins. Sherwin-Williams (SHW) bucks the trend, rising 9% following strong earnings thanks to strong demand. Management believes the worst of the industry supply chain challenges are now behind them.

General Electric (GE) can't get out of its own way. The stock fell 10%, the most in the S&P 500 Index following earnings and guidance that is trending toward the low end of its 2022 financial forecast. GE continues to struggle with supply-chain turmoil and spiking raw-material costs.
