Visa (V) earnings shows the economy remains strong. The world's largest payments processor is jumping 8% as earnings easily beat as revenues rose 25.5% to $7.19 billion. Travel accounted for nearly a quarter of their business. Going forward, pulling their business out of Russia will hit revenue in the second half of the year by roughly 4%.
Google (GOOG) a rare dog. Google is down 3% off the lows following earnings. Earnings missed by a wide margin even as sales rose 23% to $68.0 billion. The miss was due in part to slower advertising on YouTube, dragging lower by the war in Europe, a suspension of services in Russia, and the increasing draw of TikTok. Although one analyst said Google is not losing share to TikTok.
