Top Gun: Maverick is lifting movie theatre company AMC Entertainment (AMC). The stock jumped 17% on Friday as Top Gun: Maverick earned $19.3 million in previews and is expected to earn $80-100 million in box office this weekend. Disney rose 3% as they release Obi-Wan-Kenobi streaming series and Netflix (NFLX) rose 2% as "Stranger Things" starts up again.

Another tech stock misses estimates. Workday (WDAY) fell 5% today following lackluster earnings. Earnings missed by 2 cents as sales rose 22% to $1.43 billion. Workday finished out 2021 on a strong note, but guidance for 2022 was soft as a potential recession brings into question management's expression of confidence in signing new software deals.
