Dreamworks Animation Inc. (DWA)

Dreamworks Animation is going to be giving investors nightmares after today, down 3.84% at $18.05. The movie maker saw shares decline after analysts stated that their latest movie, Rise of the Guardians, had lower than expected opening day sales. Analysts now think that the five day box office sales will be around $31 million, which is significantly lower than previous expectations. The problem with the opening seems to come from the stiff competition in the box office. Some notable movies that could compete with Rise of the Guardians sales are, Wreck it Ralph, Twilight, the new James Bond movie, and Flight. Dreamworks is still above its 52-week low of $16.35.

Molycorp Inc. (MCP)

Molycorp Inc. is skyrocketing today, up 19.32% at $8.62. The rare earth oxide company saw shares pop after executives including the CEO purchased shares. John Ashburn, an executive vice president and the company's general counsel, bought 10,000 shares. Charles Henry, a director, purchased 45,192 shares, and Chief Executive Officer, Mark Smith purchased 20,000 shares at $6.20. Molycorp had been trading at its lowest levels since its 2010 initial public offering. However, today the company is one of the largest gainers and bounced well off of its 52-week low.
