TravelCenters of America is traveling downward today, falling 27.31% at $8.51. The travel center company saw shares fall after announcing second quarter earnings. For the quarter, TravelCenters reported an 8% decrease in EBITDA, which fell to $86.6 million. Furthermore, net income fell an astonishing 46.5% down to $16.0 million. The decline is largely attributable to a decline in fuel gross margin per gallon, which averaged $0.17 during the 2013 second quarter versus $0.19 during the 2012 second quarter. Shares fell over $3.30 but were able to held up well above their 52-week low of $4.18.

Vocera Communications Inc. (VCRA)

Vocera Communications is in the green today, up 17.96% at $16.75. The mobile communication company (primarily healthcare related communication) saw its shares rally after better than expected earnings. For the quarter, Vocera delivered a 1.7% increase in year-over-year revenue to $25.3 million and earnings per share of $0.01. Wall Street analysts were expecting the company to announce a $0.03 per share loss. Also helping Vocera's cause was Wells Fargo upgrade to "outperform" from "market perform" and its new price target of $20.00 up from $17.00. Vocera shares are in the lower quartile of their 52-week range of $11.99-$32.97.
