Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. (VNDA)

Vanda Pharmaceuticals is looking great today, up 25.35% to $12.56. The biotech company saw its shares soar after news that the European Medicines Agency accepted Vanda's drug marketing authorization application for their drug, Hetlioz. Hetiloz is a non-24 hour sleep-wake disorder drug for the totally blind. More than 130,000 people in Europe suffer from this disorder (95,000 in the US). Reuters is expecting the drug to achieve sales of $295 million. Vanda shares gained over $2.50 today but are still well off of their 52-week high of $19.25.

FuelCell Energy Inc. (FCEL)

FuelCell Energy is crashing and burning today, down 7.59% to $2.19. The fuel cell plant company saw its shares fall after worse than expected earnings. For the second quarter FuelCell announced a loss of $0.04 per share on revenues of $38.3 million (down 9.8% year over year). Both numbers missed analysts' estimates for a loss of $0.03 per shares on revenue of $45.2 million. Shares of the company fell $0.18 today but are still above their 52-week low of $1.10.
