LightPath Technologies (LPTH)

LightPath Technologies gained over 40% on the day. The company's stock was trading up .45 up to 1.55 during the middle of the day. The optical component designer provided an update on its infrared product line, saying its shipment volumes tripled in the fiscal third quarter. Revenue also increased 193% in the quarter. The CEO made a statement regarding the company's determination to bring quality products that promote the commercial development of infrared imaging technology. This publicity may continue for the small electrical equipment company.

Vera Bradley, Inc. (VRA)

Vera Bradley Inc. dropped 10% to 12.70 after reporting a quarterly loss and stating that it was not attracting enough new customers. The company missed estimates made by Thomson Reuters and forecasted weaker than expected second quarter earnings. Now Vera Bradley is facing an uncertain market and cannot sustain sales, meaning the outlook looks pretty poor for the handbag and accessory company.
