American consumers are back. American Express (AXP) is up 4% to new highs following strong earnings as the American consumer is in good shape and willing to put their shopping splurges on some plastic.

Easy come, easy go. After a big run up last year, Boston Beer (SAM) is down over 20% following lackluster earnings and a slashing to the full-year guidance. The culprit: Execs overestimated the potential of the hard seltzer market, which continues to slow amid rising competition and people returning to bars coming out of the COVID-19.
