Auto stocks rebound as President Trump looking at a tariff pause for the industry. Ford (F) and GM (GM) are up over 3% as the administration is looking at an automotive tariff pause to give car companies more time to adjust. Auto makers face 25% tariffs on imported vehicles and 25% on imported parts.
Meta (META) is lower as the FTC brings a four year old lawsuit to court alleging that Meta practiced monopolistic practices by acquiring Instagram in 2012 and WhatsApp in 2014. Meta denies this, saying it has plenty of competition from apps like TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, and X. According to the lawsuit, Meta could be forced to break up its business, including the possible divestiture of Instagram and WhatsApp.
